The Subaru brand is well-known for creating two types of vehicles. First, Subaru is known to manufacturer capable and long-lasting vehicles. And thanks to the fact that many of these reliable Subaru models feature all-wheel drive, vehicles like the 2013 Subaru Outback are specifically known as vehicles perfect for the outdoors adventurer. Second, Subaru is recognized for manufacturing performance-focused sports cars like the Subaru Impreza, respected and feared throughout the track-racing community, or the exciting brand-new 2013 Subaru BRZ. You can see all of these models and more in person right here at Grand Prix Subaru, conveniently located on South Broadway in Long Island, New York. In the meantime, read on to learn more about our beloved Subaru brand!

Subaru of America was founded in 1968. A subsidiary of Fiji Heavy Industries of Japan, the mission of Subaru of America is to make well-built, durable and reliable vehicles that will last generations. One aspect of the Subaru brand that helps Subaru of America achieve this mission is the vehicle's Subaru BOXER engine. The Subaru BOXER engine is designed to lie horizontally inside of a vehicle, while most engine designs sit perpendicular. The outcome is a more efficient, more stable vehicle. While Subaru has experimented with and expanded its model designs over the decades since its inception, the company has never forgotten its dedication to crafting reliable and efficient vehicles.

Perhaps the two most iconic Subaru models over the brand's history – and models that remain some of the most popular choices on our Grand Prix Subaru dealer lot on Long Island – are the Subaru Outback and the Subaru Forester. The Subaru Outback was first introduced to production in 1994, and is now in its fifth generation. The 2013 Subaru Outback very much maintains the original lines of the first Subaru Outback, but over time has increased in size and efficiency. The Subaru Forester is a slightly larger than the Subaru Outback and has been in production since 1997. Like the Outback, it too has grown over its lifetime. The vehicle was first categorized as a compact crossover wagon, but now fits within the mid-size crossover SUV genre. But besides these beloved favorites, we can't forget about the popular performance-based Subaru Impreza, which has remained a leading model for the brand since its introduction in America in 1992. All three of these Subaru models are currently available at our Long Island Subaru dealership!
