Powering the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium-which is one of six Subaru Forester trims-is its namesake, a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine that can produce 170 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. A fully-synchronized six-speed manual transmission is standard on this trim, though if you prefer you can opt instead for the available Lineartronic® CVT, which offers the option of six- or eight-speed manual shift modes. A towing capacity of 1,500 lbs doesn't mean you'll have to compromise on fuel efficiency; the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium gets an EPA-estimated 29 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the city with the standard manual transmission.

For a smooth, enjoyable ride, the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium has symmetrical all-wheel drive, Vehicle Dynamics Control, and a Traction Control System as standard equipment. Electric power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering and a four-wheel independent suspension make for responsive handling.
