Go Green with a New Subaru from Grand Prix Subaru

At our Long Island Subaru dealership, we can bet that most of our customers have one thing in common: they just love nature. As an automaker known for encouraging a spirit of adventure among all its drivers and passengers, the name "Subaru" has always inspired images of camping, road-tripping, hiking, and otherwise basking in the natural beauty of our environment.

So when you think about how the auto industry has been upping the ante to protect the environment in recent years, it comes as no surprise that Subaru is ahead of the game in its mission to keep our world clean and beautiful. For Subaru, environmental responsibility goes a lot deeper than just creating a lineup of vehicles that look good on paper with nice MPG ratings. And for our NY Subaru dealer team, that's a commitment we're proud to share with all of our valued customers.

"Green" Right Down to the Bones

Thanks to innovative manufacturing processes that place sustainability at the forefront, when you buy a new or used Subaru on Long Island, you are supporting "green" auto plants like Subaru of Indiana Automotive. In 2004, this plant became the first manufacturing facility in the entire country to reach zero-landfill status – where 100 percent of manufacturing waste is either recycled or turned into electricity – and is also currently the only U.S. plant to earn the designation of Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. As a recipient of the prestigious WasteWise Gold Achievement award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for three consecutive years in three different categories, Subaru of Indiana Automotive has demonstrated admirable leadership in automotive environmentalism for more than a decade.

Partial Zero-Emissions Subaru Vehicles

Subaru has also taken extra steps to preserve nature by creating a lineup of special "green" vehicles designed to produce lower emissions. Subaru Partial Zero-Emissions Vehicles, which include certain Forester and Legacy models, do their part to protect the earth by reducing smog-forming auto emissions to almost zero. In order to be classified as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle, a car must produce zero evaporative emissions from its fuel system; offer a 15-year or 150,000-mile warranty on the emissions system; and meet tailpipe emissions standards set by Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle requirements.
